In the fall of 2000, the Provost and Executive Vice President asked AACII to examine the role of the Administrative Officer (AO) at MIT.

In June, 2001, AACII published the report, "Review of the Administrative Officer Position." Authored by Elizabeth Cooper and Tom Hrycaj, the report built on prior work of AAC and included input and comment from AACII members and the Institute's administrative community.

We have included this document in the AACII Archives because it is a valuable contribution to understanding the AO's role at MIT.
