MIT’s Air Travel Carbon Offset Program

• Julie and Lillian gave a presentation about the program.
• Effort focuses on reducing MIT’s climate impact, sparking innovation, educating future generations, leveraging government action, uniting and coordinating all of MIT’s climate efforts. 
• Goal is to eliminate direct emissions from campus by 2050.
• Climate Vault is third party vendor working with MIT on the program.
• Three offset options will be offered $50 (domestic), $75 (foreign) or a flexible contribution and all are currently voluntary.
• Contributions will be done through Coupa.
• Sponsored research/projects cannot be used for this program.
• Three DLCIs will pilot this program for the first few months.  DLCIs are Sloan, School of Architecture and Planning (SA+P) and Kavli Institute for Astrophysics and Space Research.
• Website is live now.
